The Andreas Hofer Weinstube is a small, delightful restaurant for young and old. „New“ guests often sit together with us, forming convivial groups. At the Andreas Hofer Weinstube, we offer hearty, traditional cuisine: soups, snacks, classics, noodles & spätzle, and typical Austrian desserts are all on our extensive menu. For groups of 12 or more, we recommend the Andreas Hofer Pfandl, a variation of our classics and spätzle. With our Kaspressknödel, always freshly prepared in the pan – served with salad or in soup – you can satisfy light hunger with great enjoyment.

Here, young and old meet over a selected glass of Austrian or international wine, accompanied by music from an ancient Wurlitzer. We offer the right wine for every dish. Start your evening with a Steinfeder Grüner Veltliner, a light wine from the Wachau with a fresh, fruity bouquet and low alcohol content. For lovers of „red gold“, we recommend our St. Laurent Barrique. Why not try our special wine recommendations – we regularly update our wine list with excellent Austrian and international wines.
History
The Andreas Hofer Weinstube at Steingasse 65 was formerly an old guild house of stonemasons, bricklayers, and carpenters. As early as 1874, the Kress family ran an inn here called „zum Apfel“ (At the Apple). The Andreas Hofer Weinstube has been around since the 1920s. The beautiful, rustic furniture also dates from this period. In March 2003, the young Salzburg restaurateur Roland Gruber took over the Andreas Hofer Weinstube and is continuing the tradition of previous, historically significant tenants.
